Every faction changes both the army you command and the questions you ask. Connection, adaptation, and possibility are not cosmetic themes; each one shapes expansion, information, risk, and recovery.

Playable status: Meridian, Kharuun, and Hollow Choir are source-reachable local factions in the current development prototype. Missions 14 and 15 supply tested Choir command-crisis and final-accord routes. Concept targets for all three factions' units and structures are registered under CONCEPT-001, CONCEPT-015, and CONCEPT-017..019.
01 / Meridian Compact

Reliable power through measured systems

The Meridian Compact is a network of culturally different city-states joined by logistics, Dawnshard accounting, and mutual defense. “Meridian” names the compact, not one people. Its language favors anchors, tolerances, ledgers, reserve margins, and promises that can be measured.

Compact communities maintain infrastructure whose original builders are gone. That tradition made survival possible—and taught leaders to see uncertainty as something that should be controlled.

Strength through connection

Anchors and Power Links create a dependable network for production, repair, sensors, logistics, and powered defense. Expansion is deliberate and becomes formidable once connected.

How to challenge them

Break the narrow link

A strong position may depend on one exposed connection. Isolate an Aegis Post or cut temporary supply, and a prepared fortress can lose the reliability it was built around.

What they believe

Survival must be governable

The Ledger Peace prevented local collapses. Compact leaders can point to real cities saved by controlled extraction, even as that control concentrates power over which futures are consumed.

Mara Vey and Cael Rhyse

Mara turns uncertainty into a field problem she can solve. Rhyse wants to restore one stable future for the entire world. Their goals overlap until the cost becomes impossible to ignore.

Living infrastructure and shared memory

Kharuun identity has layers. A person is a present consciousness, a custodian of ancestral fragments, and a participant in an assembly that can combine memory without perfectly merging it. Names describe chosen relationships rather than caste.

Their structures are grown mineral-organic systems that alter heat, porosity, and acoustic transmission. They are cultivated, repaired, and inhabited—never “wild” or primitive.

Waystones migrate before taking root. Warforms select visible adaptations near Growth Basins. Cairnbacks create temporary mineral cover, and Resonants listen for motion through the terrain.

How to challenge them

Read the emergence

Mobility is not invisibility. Uprooted infrastructure is vulnerable, molt sites are visible, and subsurface routes expose predictable emergence zones that an alert opponent can prepare around.

What they believe

Memory creates responsibility

A society that remembers its past can learn from it. Oruun’s discovery complicates that faith: the record was edited to prevent another civil conflict.

Oruun carries seven accounts that correct one another. The campaign asks whether honest continuity can survive the truth about deliberate forgetting.

Grown mineral structure

Facets, cones, nodules, and layered strata; inhabited and maintained, never primitive. The art direction assigns the Assemblies amber accents. This sheet and the composed target add limited violet crystal detail that the art direction does not assign; the in-engine Kharuun accent is amber.

The future
is not empty.

Preserve possibility, then resolve it

The Hollow Choir forms from linked consciousness inside unrealized branches. Its members are not ghosts and do not speak as one mystical mind. They build stable speech by choosing among incompatible phrasings, and they disagree about whether coexistence is possible.

Choir architecture looks temporary because it expresses forms that remain real only while enough coherence is maintained. A doorway may align from one approach. A span may cast two equally valid shadows.

Bounded battlefield identity

Control intervals, not territory

Units maintain declared possible states and must eventually resolve one. Structures depend on visible coherence timing. Missions 14–15 and deterministic tests accept this bounded contract and one recorded ending path; broad matchup balance remains unproven.

Fairness rule

No free rewind

The Choir cannot erase hidden information without consequence. Every phase, displacement, or duplicate state must be publicly telegraphed and answerable.

Erased lives still count

The realized world calls other outcomes “possibilities.” The Choir remembers them as homes, relationships, and people denied continuation.

Neme contains several possible selves with different answers to coexistence. Those disagreements remain real; none is waiting to be revealed as the only authentic voice.

The current Choir prototype includes Threadkeeper, Intervalist, Lacuna Warden, Afterimage, Concordance, Interval Loom, Chorus Loom, Phase Anchor, Held Alternatives, and Shared Resolution. Their authored costs and deterministic mechanics are implemented; final tuning, animation, effects, audio, broad usability, and three-faction balance are not established.

In the strategic staging war room, commanders select their doctrine, inspect unit rosters, and analyze regional threat contours before launching an operation.

Sustain the position

Headquarters and faction infrastructure determine how much force can be supported. Harassing capacity can matter more than destroying an army head-on.
